Create a desktop shortcut to network path

As we all share files on various file servers, it can be useful to create shortcuts to specific shared folders, folders in your personal H drives or to websites. 


  • Right‑click an empty area on your desktop.

  • Select New → Shortcut.

  • Enter the path to the program/file, or paste website URL.

    • note: network paths to shared folders begin with \\ characters

  • Click Nextname it, and finish.
